Seacom

Tommorrow East Africa will witness the go live for the first of three fibre optic cables.
This is eagerly awaited by ISP's,Telecomm carriers, data services providers and ofcourse us the consumers.
mmmmh...Can't wait for the downloads to start...

the launch is readily welcome, but there is already talk by some of the service providers that costs for connectivity may only drop by 20% and over a period of time, this is what readily discourages us in Africa. At least the recent announcement by Kenya Data Networks(KDN) that they will reduce costs by upto 90% is very welcome. Maybe even trigger a price war.
